BC Visitor Centre @ Peace Arch
South Surrey, BC

This new visitors' center on the #99 freeway welcomes incoming vehicles arriving from the United States. The structural beams for the great hall are made from Douglas Fir logs reclaimed from the Fraser River, and a "forest" of logs along the glazing wall showcases common tree species found around the province. The project was done in collaboration with Meiklejohn Architects Inc and is anticipated to reach a gold level of LEED certification.
