Private Residence
Invermere, BC
The design for this house focused around a central axis point with the purpose of creating view corridors that extend towards Lake Windermere along the tree lines. The axis point fans out at 22.5 degree radials, creating a harmonious plan that is simultaneously spacious and intimate, while taking full advantage of the axis point both horizontally and vertically. The interior details mirror these angular lines in a fanned hardwood floor detail, angled rock fireplaces as well as defined bar and kitchen areas. The rustic setting was weaved into a modern interior through strong accents in the finishes and furniture, resulting in a balanced marriage of two distinct styles.
